Anne Newbon
Firsanne Textile Designs
Anne Newbon was teaching ‘little ones’ at primary
level that obviously involved art and
craft and included running a needlework club after
school.
Crafting has been in Anne’s life forever, but she has
specialised in textile art for over 20
years joining Craft in Action some years ago with
her first being in Moreton in Marsh, and as they say
she hasn’t looked back.
Anne can frequently be heard at craft fairs as she comes complete with sewing machine.
Her work includes pictures, dishes, bowls, book covers and scarves all made by her at her
dining table “well all over the house actually”.
Some of her items are made from silk fibre that required ‘wetting’ and drying over yogurt
pots to form the required shape she wants.
Anne belongs to Pershore Embroideries & Textile Artists and a group known as ‘Threads’
in Worcester where she meets and shares tips and ideas with other like minded people.
Always keen to impart knowledge and
encouragement she works with the Eckington
Guide Group here she has been known to be
seen in a howling gale outside trying to make
wet felt!
